David Keith’s book, Ocean Shores to Desert Dunes is a comprehensive, authoritative and illustrated book on the native vegetation of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. This book was awarded:
- winner of the Education (corporate/government) category of the prestigious EnergyAustralia National Trust Heritage Awards 2005.
- best scholarly reference book in The Australian Awards for Excellence in Educational Publishing for 2005.
Ocean Shores to Desert Dunes comprehensively describes each class of native vegetation in NSW and the ACT, explaining where it occurs and why, interesting aspects of ecology, evolution, history and development, as well as current conservation and management challenges. The book includes more than 100 maps and over 400 colour photographs, and a species list for each vegetation class. This reference is the perfect companion to the many plant identification guides currently available, and is based on a significant new map and vegetation classification.
